UNO Party!!

Can you even believe that my baby is ONE?!?! I'm still in denial that's for sure. We had a young man in our ward report on his mission today and I got a huge lump in my throat thinking that the next 18 years are sure to fly by as fast as this first one, and it's going to be like tomorrow that Beckett is leaving me for a mission!! Enough of my pity party though, let's get to the good stuff...

A friend of mine had thrown her little boy an UNO themed first birthday party and ever since I saw pictures like right after Beckett was born I've been stuck on the idea. I had so much fun with the theme and planning this special birthday party. I fully realize that this party was more for me than Beckett and I'm totally okay with it! My parents drove down from MD to be here, and with a total of 30 adults and 16 kids it was quite the party!!

Here are some pictures of the festivities for those of you who asked...

Making the party shirt...
The UNO garland was so fun and super easy to make

Food table, minus most of the food but you get the idea.

The candy bar and pictures of Beckett through the months.

My first attempt at cake decorating.

Party Boy!
Present mayhem... I told the kids they could help Beckett open his presents and it was a free for all! We pretty much had no idea who gave what but the kids had a heyday with it.
Our friends from ASU gave him this truck and he was in heaven, they showed up the rest of us!

Cake time! He could not wait to get his hands on this thing. I had put M&M's around it though and they proved to me quite the distraction, he just kept pounding them and not touching the cake! We finally moved the cake and gave him a cupcake. It was obviously a success.

Then it was outside for the pinata!
I wasn't sure what the little kids would thinkof it but they all had a blast.
It was pretty entertaining, especially for Scott
who loved swinging the pinata around and teasing the kids!

All pooped out from the party!

And this is just a cute one from today after his Sunday nap.
We feel so lucky to have this sweet boy in our life. As fast as this year has gone, it's almost crazier to try and think about what our life was like before this little guy came around. We love him so much and can't wait to continue to watch him grow and learn over the years. Happy Birthday Beckett!!
