Well I had every intention of posting something on here every week now that we have the little guy... How am I doing? Apparently taking care of a newborn is a ton of work!!...Who knew?!
So here are some pictures from the last four weeks. Beckett is not even two months old yet and he has already been to Palm Springs and the Grand Canyon. The Fishes are a travelling family and we like to train 'em young!
I think we are all kind of waking up from the "baby fog" we have been under this last month. It was a doosie. I got the all clear from the Doc and have been on a whopping ONE run (two and a half miles never hurt so bad!). Beckett sleeps during the night like a champ. Not so much during the days, he is quite the snuggle bug and passes out in his Bjorn or your arms...his crib, not so much. He is starting to smile and coo a little, and we think he is pretty fun.
Oh, and here are some of my goals for his second month (and beyond) of life:
* Learn how to use my nice camera
* Take pictures of him out of his car seat, without his binky, and with us more
* Exercise more than once a week (even two times counts :))
* Be more patient and enjoy this stage more
Enjoy the pictures!
Celebrating his first Valentines Day with Grammie

After one of our "fussy time" walks. This was about 3 weeks old, he grew out of that sling pretty fast. We do our neighborhood walks with the Bjorn now. I walked around for over two hours one day just to keep him sleeping, I had to have Scott buy me a knee brace! I know, I am one of those crazy moms already...You do anything for a little piece and quiet!
Four weeks. So tiny in his car seat.
Three-ish weeks. Taking his vitamins with dad. This boy loves anything you put in his mouth!

Cute sleepy faces. When he is passed out his mouth hangs open... Just like is Dad. :)

Snuggle time with mom and dad

On our way to his one month appointment. Stop the madness with this big boy outfit!
One Month Stats: 11lbs 6oz, 23 inches long. Basically a healthy three month old. Hence the 3 month onsie he is wearing.
He was feeling a little self-conscience about being such a heffer in this picture... :)
Sleepy bath time picture, and a good shot of his crazy hair. It really is out of control.
Mr. GQ. Those shoes were my first baby purchase for myself. I bought them like seven years ago while doing a study abroad in Paris. I like to plan ahead.
Palm Springs Triathlon Pictures
Notice Scott's sweet bedhead before the race, and you wonder where Beckett gets it! And I appreciate that Ryan wanted to keep things modest in his tight wetsuit... Nice helmet placement.
The whole gang- Ben, Mike, Ryan and Scott
Scott's cheering section
I had him all bundled up for the early morning start. Good thing too since he had a serious poop explosion that would have been much worse in any thinner outfit!
Soaking up some rays at the pool after the race, it was pretty tough on him. :)
The dad's with their babes. Crazy we are all parents, weren't we just goofing off in college together?!

Learning how to smile
On our way to church for the first time last Sunday. We only made it to sacrament meeting...baby steps.
At Montezuma Castle on our way to the Grand Canyon

Scott sporting not only Beckett but our cute niece Ellie too. I think this was just before Scott almost got arrested by a Park Ranger for sticking up for me. Long story, but basically I tried to ask the Ranger for help while he was in the middle of a traffic stop (which is apparently really serious at the Grand Canyon...give me a break). He was super rude to me telling me to go to the Visitor's Center....blah, blah, I'm a rude grouchy man, blah, blah. When I told Scott he was so rude he passed me Elly and walked over to say it was uncalled for. The Ranger YELLED at him, told him to get on the curb, asked for his license- yes this all really happened- Then basically told him not to be fooled by his super cute park ranger hat (Okay that might be me talking), and that he is actually a police officer with a badge, gun, and taser- which he said he would have pulled on Scott if he did not have the baby on him. Wow, what a gem he was. He ended up letting Scott go and we were able to go enjoy the Grand Canyon....well after like a half hour of us re-hashing the experience and racking our brains for anyone we knew in the Parks Department so we could complain about this jerk!

Oh well, here is the fam at the Grand Canyon. It really is amazing. Good thing it took us almost four years of living in Arizona to make it there. Thanks John Fish (Scott's older brother in Dallas) family for giving us the push we needed!
